I have a remote IP office 403 that is not functioning properly. The red voicemail lights are blinking on all phones with no dial tone or display. The LAN portion is working okay as far as I can tell. I have power cycled a couple of times with no luck. Any suggestions?
They had bad weather over the weekend but it is connected to a apc battery backup/surge and no other device is having issues on that backup.

what does monitor say when you are connected ?

I can't connect using sysmonitor. I meant to say that the ethernet portion of the switch is still working. I can't connect via the IP address.

it looks like it died
only thing you can try is the DTE port
try this (if it responding let us know)

DTE Port Maintenance
faq940-6158
Posted: 2 Jan 06 (Edited 19 Dec 06)

Overview
The DTE port on the back of an IP Office Control Unit is not normally used when configuring an IP Office system. However the DTE port can be used to erase the system's operational software and/or configuration if
necessary.

Due to the drastic nature of these actions they should only be performed if absolutely necessary to return a system back to working order. In either case you must ensure that you have a backup copy of the system configuration.

DTE Port Settings
Access to the DTE port requires a serial cable between your PC/Laptop and the IP Office (such as a standard modem cable).

DTE PORT on 403 & 406v1 units: 25 pin.
DTE PORT on SOE, 406v2 & 412 units: 9 pin.

Also required is an asynchronous terminal program such as HyperTerminal.

Configure this for operation via a PC serial port, as follows:
• Bits per second: 38,400.
• Data bits: 8.
• Parity: None.
• Stop Bits: 1.
• Flow Control: None.
• Settings | Emulation: TTY or VT100.

Finding Out the Loader Version
It may sometimes be necessary to find out the version of Loader software on the IP Office Control Unit.
1. Switch off power to the IP Office Control Unit.
2. Attach the serial cable between the PC and the DTE port on the IP Office Control Unit.
3. Start the terminal program on your PC. Ensure that it has been setup as listed in DTE Port Settings above.
• Within a HyperTerminal session the current settings are
summarized across the base of the screen.
4. Power on the IP Office Control Unit and press the escape key every second until you get a Loader message. Below is an example.
PremiSys Loader 0.6 (4MB-2xLV160 Flash-120nS SDRAM-10)
CPU Revision 0x0501
5. To return the IP Office Control Unit to normal operation switch power to it off and then back on.
6. Close the terminal program session.

If it took a hit from power as your post suggests, replace the unit. I am not going to want to support a system remote which took a power hit like yours which caused a total system failure, firmware loss, and who knows what else.

Get a new unit out there, hopefully you have a recent back up, have the new unti sent to you, upgrade it, load up the CFG, ship it to site, and have it plugged in. Do not even mess around with the DTE, except as a bandaid, if you must. Om second thought, don't even bother with the DTE as a band aid, get a new one.

@intrigrant

he needs to go there anyway :)
or if he does it right someone else has to go over there

Thanks guys for all of the replies. And once again I dropped the ball since it's actually a small office edition. Since it was purchased before my time I can't find a sold to or FL number so I have no support. My next step is sending a technician on site to troubleshoot and hopefully replace parts rather than the entire system. Thanks
