One of my sites is showing "invalid" when calling another site using our 4 digit dialing I no idea to where to start trouble shooting any help would be appreciated very much.
It certainly sounds like the ARS is not setup correctly. In other words, is the other site begins with 4 it would be 4 with 3 digits to follow and the route for your IP trunks. If I missed something someone else please chime in.
Always look out for the next guy because it may be you!
Ok, that's very good, so it will be something simple, but possibly hard to find.
here is how the call gets processed
you dial XXXX
XXXX is found in the remote directory form (verify extension is in RD form)
XXXX is assigned to PBX x as its primary controller - Verify
The system looks up the CEID in the cluster form for the destination system and prepends the digits (what are those digits?)
The CEID should be programmed as ARS digits with 4 digits to follow going route XX
Route XX should be set to use an IP trunk group and assigned a COR (typically unrestricted) and Modify Digits (Typically no modification)
The IP trunk group is set to a remote profile, type of trunk and quantity of trunks
The profile assigns a COS and needs to be matched against the profile that the far end uses to call back
Then (depending on software level)
PBX specific limits on trunk quntities
IP address of remote system
See if you can follow the call thru your system and if anything looks out of place.
