We have an intuity audix box that seems to have stopped accepting telnet / ASA (ver 1.1) connections. Works fine if you login at the local console.

We've tried re-booting the system, no change. Anyone experience this prior? Suggestions?

Has the box been upgraded lately. I have an Intuity LX that worked fine with ASA prior to an upgrade, I lost the use of ASA after the upgrade because port 23 was closed. By default, a new Intuity comes with port 23 closed. I opened a case with Avaya and at no cost to had port 23 re-opened. Works fine now.

No updates recently-- that's what really has us stumped!

Can you ping the address of the lan board, are their any connectivity lamps on it showing status. Worst case, when was the machine rebooted last. Intuity, although a Unix box, tends to get hosed up periodically and needs to be rebooted every 90-120 days to clear the machine. Do a soft shutdown and cold start. In extreme cases it may take 2 or more recycles to clear the machine if it has not been rebooted in 12-24 months. Check your connectivity and see if you can ping to and from the box first!

We can ping the machine-- that's what has us confused. We've warm started once, and cold started once, and usually do planned restarts every 60 days or so.

You did not specify the version of the machine 4.4 or 5.0-5.1, but you need to see if you can ping FROM the machine also. If it has IP, it has test capabilities under the sa login. If you can connect to other devices with ASA, you might try building another connection under a different name to the Intuity, or maybe try telnet with Hyperterminal to that address/port to eliminate a software corruption issue.
