I know it has been asked, but I am not sure I got this right. I am a computer Tech being asked to take over the phone system's for our 6 offices. We have an office out of Chicago that needs to dial Hong Kong. The provider tells me I have to strip the 011 from the call. So I made this short code and I am wondering if I did this right. Please note they use 8 to get an outside line, not 9.

Code: 8011N
Feature: Dial
telephone Number 011N
Line Group ID: 50: Main

The normal outside line code reads
code: 8N
Feature: Dial
Telephone Number: N
Line Group ID: 50: Main

Code: 8011N
Feature: Dial
telephone Number N
Line Group ID: 50: Main :)

Try adding both

Code: 8011N
Feature: Dial
telephone Number 011N
Line Group ID: 50: Main

and

Code: 8011N
Feature: Dial
telephone Number 8011N
Line Group ID: 50: Main

then dial

Gary, neither of those shortcodes will strip 011 off, which is what the OP wanted, what I posted will :)

Believe it or not I follow the logic in your first post AMriddle01 and it makes perfect sense. I was unsure which way to go, that is why I posted here.

Thank you again.

Hello again. I am still having problems with International from this office in Chicago. Now it doesn't even seem like I am getting a line out at all. I have tried with the shortcode in this thread and I removed it and tried. I did this because I have a system in New York that works and it doesn't have the short code. What I get is a fast busy tone and the status screen doesn't show the call nor does Xima. The only thing I can find in the Monitor is this code

I am feeling a bit fustrated here as I am not a phone guy and being asked to take over for a crappy vendor. I did take some classes but they didn't cover this.

you send out the leading 8

INVITE sip:801185228667900@xx.xxx.xx.xx SIP/2.0

start from the beginning with the system
8N
dial
N
ARS 50

this will send anything that starts with an 8 to the ARS and you are doing the rest of the work in the ARS table so no problems in the system SC (this is really the only shortcode you need in the system if it doesn't work put a ";" behind the 8N so it will be 8N;)

then in the ARS you will have
011N
dial
011N
line group ID of your line

this will take anything starting with 011 and an undefined number of digits and send it out the line without the 8.

in the ARS I usually have also
xxxxxxxxxx
dial
N
line group ID

for local calls with 10 digits as I think Chicago has

1xxxxxxxxxx
dial
1N
line group ID

for LD and toll free calls

if you want to add
411
dial
411
line group ID

for obvious 411 calls and the default 911 as call emergency should also be in there then you are set

You guys are great. Always someone willing to help. I'll try this in the morning. I scare myself by what I can understand. Might not be able to solve without your help. Thanks. I'll post back either way.

I just read the first post again and the line provider cannot call out of the US without the 011 as there would be an overlap in area code and country code so you need to send it. I guess that is why you send the 011 out on the line.

So I added the following to my ARS Table and I still get the same results

011N;
Dial
011N
0

I still get the fast busy. I did notice, or someone here did, that it was trying to call out over the SIP's trunk. We don't have those, just the PRI. I am trying with OneX mobile on the iPhone.

Well somene has configured a SIP trunk and also left it in the same line group as your PRI, so that's something you need to sort out :)

Also that trace you posted is an inbound call on that SIP trink you don't have :)

I followed the advise again from kflounders in that post I referenced. My collouge and I were able to call a restaurant in Hong Kong, too bad they will not deliver!

Thank you everyone for your help and Dealing with me!

So does any of this help?
You do realize that you have broadcasted the public IP address to your IPO?
We see it and that means the hackers do too, they'd probably find this very helpful.

1) Deactivate the accounts not used
2) Change all passwords (most of them are default now)
3) Remove 0.0.0.0 route from LAN2
4) Activate the internal IPO firewall
5) Install a decent firewall ASAP

Kind regards

Gunnar
