Hi Everyone,

I have multiple IP Office 500V2 systems running 8.1.(85). I need to setup a button on the phones display that will alert a select group in the office that the person who pressed the button requires immediate assistance. I would like a recording to play when the button is pressed that automatically comes over the speaker of the group members and does not require the members to pickup the call. The announcement needs to be able to intrude on calls and then play or at the least automatically play for group members that aren't on the phone. Thank you in advance for the help.

mforrence, I want to use chronicall but this external number requirement to trigger the alerts is defniltley and issue. Using your suggestion still produces noise on the phone. The goal is to try and not aggitate the client further and I believe having a busy signal, or dial tone, or ringing will help the situation. Any ideas about how to make a call silent or instantly disconnect, providing just enough time to trigger the alert would be appreciated.

Gunnaro, I followed your directions as best I could. I went though and changed the from user on each of the generic commands to me indtead of Doctor 1. I then changed the 3 set absent text to the correct word and $NAM. The WAV is in place, we are using a linux server for vmpro and the wav file location is on my desktop which i connect to the server using vmpro client. Is this an issue? The post dial specific extension is set to the short code for dialing the huntgroup with a page. The huntgroup members still get a VM:INVITE message on there screens with the option to ACCEPT the invite. On my phone the text does change to my name which seems to pull from the user\group mailbox field. I used the reset module which worked and cleared my name from the phone. What am i missing?

Invite is exactly what you should see, so it's only the file that is not reached.
Does the phone go off hook? (I hope it has a speaker:))

Put the file in the ..\wavs folder and play it from a generic action, choose to play on an extn.

Kind regards

Gunnar

Hey Gunnaro,

I got the file to play correctly. It wasn't seeing the file as it was still on my desktop and not on the vm server. I thought the server would pull the file from my computer but obviously not. So the file plays perfectly now but when you hit accept on the invite it still does not display the user name. I replaced the user\group mailbox fields in all of the generic actions with my user. I then filled out the 3 absent text actions with the corresponding word and the 3rd one with $NAM. What am I missing now?

Again when I am the originating caller it changes the text on my phone and displays the name I put in the user\groupmailbox field but does not display the same info on the huntgroup members phones. Thank you again for all the help with this.

It won't display before you hang up.
I ran the setup on my demo kit, changed the display on all phones.
The only thing I can think of is the local difference and that I built it on a 8.1.85 IPO.

Export the modules and drop me an email. (Scan QR code).

Kind regards

Gunnar
