I have an opportunity to purchase a Inter-Tel 5000 unit that has just been taken out of service. I have never worked with the 5000 (I am certified on the 3000 and have one in my shop). The one that I can get is configured for 10 LSM ines and 32 Digital stations which will work great for my need but I need to know what I will need to do to add some IP phones to the system. I will need to add 14 IP phones right away. Also, I would like to network the system to a Mitel 5000 system located across the country in Idaho (I am in SC). My question is do I need to purchase a IP license to add the phones or is Ip standard in the system.

Thanks,
Billy C.

A few more questions....Is the Flash Card required for operation of the unit and can additional expansion cabinets be added (It has one 580.1001).

The Flash card is required for operation, it holds the system software and also acts as storage for the VM.

Additional expn cabinets can be added up to four, supporting 192 digi phones (CS Controller). Usually cabs 3 and 4 require a license.

Dependant upon software revision you can have 3 or 6 networking channels built in. Think it changed to 6 on V4??

If it's a bog standard 5200 with no Processor expn card or PS1 you can have up to 75 IP Phones via licensing.

The only issue you will have is getting licenses for it, in the UK you have to have a letter from the initial purchaser of the system allowing you or your dealer to take ownership of the system and software.
