Hello,

we have a very old NEAX2000IPS in our company that no one dared to touch for 3 years now

recently we got a call center solution and someone (unfortantly me) had to figure out how to connect them together, i found out that i need the PN-8IPLA (plus PZ-24IPLA installed on it) so i bought it from ebay, now that i have the card with me i can't figure out where to install it (later i will ask for help for how to program it :D )

So can anyone please check the attached picture of the setup we have and tell me where to install it ?

Thanks in advance

PIM 5 appears empty but you should check nothing is programmed in any of the slots as Phantoms or anything else. Experience tells me that you should allocate half a PIM to an IPLA card as it can expand to fill that. PIM 6 may also be a candidate but the lid is on that so hard to tell but even if things are programmed in those PIMs, there seems to be enough room to shuffle things around. All that said, this is not an easy job and the question arises, have you got the licenses for this? If not, all is not lost, there may be ways round this.

does it need a license !!!!

didn't thought of that

can you please in this ?

There is a person here who can cut new licenses so ask the question separately in order to get a response, I have never had need to use his services but I believe he is genuine. NEC will not cut new licenses for you!

card is installed in PIM 5 and seen by the system, but when i press on Card info that is what i see

i guess this means that there is no license , correct ? or is there a better way to confirm that

i was able to assign an IP to the card and ping it after doing the settings in the images below
don't know if this means anything or not, still need to confirm the license issue

anyone willing to offer remote setup service for that card even for fees ?

You have no IP phone or IP trunk licenses. What is the intended purpose of adding a PAD card?

to connect the NEAX2000 to the CallCenter system we have on site

which is running Elastix and act as a gateway between the landline and the internal telephone system

Correct me if I am wrong but it sounds like you are wanting to set up 3rd party SIP here... I am pretty sure you are chasing your tail. The 2000 doesn't support 3rd Party SIP. SIP handlers didn't come around until the SV8300. Just my 2 cents.
