i'm trying install vnc automatically.
I managed to do it a few years ago on win95 workstations but i'm trying now on win2k workstations and i cant for the life of me work out how i managed it.

i'm using this one:
which is a no icon one.

our security is pretty lax so there shouldnt be a problem there. i'm copying the files in the logon script and i can import registry keys using regedit /s

but the reg keys are so damn confusing.
there ones in hkcu and ones in hklm
i've been using regmon to try and figure out what's going on.

i've got it working on a test machine. but whenever i export the reg keys from hkcu and import them on another machine it dont seem to work.

what seems strange is that it recreates hkcu\software\orl\winvnc

anyway can anyone give me definitive instructions on how to install automatically.

I want to be in a position so that it's standing by to be run via a psexec remote commandshell.

cheers

i've narrowed it a bit.
it doesnt work if i run it thru psexec remote cmdshell. i mean it's showing in pslist but it's not functioning properly

it does if i open a cmd prompt on the actual computer and run it.

that'll be why i was getting confused b4.
i wanted to be able remotely run it when needed cos b4 enterprising users figured out how to get the password.
