Hi,
I have a Toshiba Satelite Pro 440CDX that has a infrared port. I installed Win2k recently and since then I have not been able to get the port working. I tried updating Win2k with all the service packs, hoping that might work. I also tried installing Toshiba's Win98 infrared drivers for the 440CDX but they have not helped either.
The Device status states:
This device is disabled because the firmware of the device did not give it the required resources. (Code 29)
So I clicked the troubleshooter and that states that I have to enable the device within the BIOS. So I went into the BIOS but there is no option to enable it. If I have a look at the Resources tab under Toshiba FIR Type-U Properties window in Device Manager, it says the device is conflicting with the Input/Output Range 03F8 - 03FF used by COM1 so I tried unclicking the Use automatic setting checkbox and tried to manually set the resources to get rid of the conflict. But when I change it to another Basic Configuration, it only changes the Input/Output range and leaves question marks in the other four fields. And it won't let me leave them as question marks. So, what should I do? Any help would be really appreciated. Thank-you.
