VB programming for Pocket PC infrared

Hello,

I would like to write a program in VB for pocketpc2003 that will control the infrared on my PDA.

Planning on writing a small universal remote control for my entertainment system.

Just need to find out how to program the IR.

Any ideas or leads?

hey...

I just downloaded the trial for the UltraMote...

And it kikz azz...

You pick a skin to use, then click learn, press a button on the virtual remote (on the ppc)... then align the ppc and the Remote and press the Button to assign to it...

the Eval is 100% free (14 day trial) NOTHING to BUY...

It works (w/o the extender) on my dell axim from the couch (~8-10 feet away)

the only thing is that the PPC has a very narrow range with the standard IR port... I bet the extender would be really nice though...

So to answer the original question in part... Yes it is definitely possible...

I would like to find the info to do the reverse though (same as learning) use a remote to control the PPC... say to use it as an MP3 Player plugged into a stereo ;-)

i myself have also been tryin to accomplish the same thing, although my axim x30 is being a bit fussy

No offence, buddy, but that kind of sounds like adding RAM without actually buying the chips

Then again, I'm not a technicia, so maybe it is possible to boost the IR.
