index on dit+dat Tag sort--problem

When indexing av FoxPro (ver7.0) table with:
INDEX ON field_length_121 TAG sort
i do get the error 112 (Invalid key length)
field_length_120 is OK

The dockumentation says "The key must bee between 1 and 240 characters"
Characters not bytes.
Why is the limit 120 Characters in my App?
Is there anybody out there with the same experience, or on the contrary?
Pleas tell me.

Using vfp7 when creating indexes on fields with a length up to 240 works just fine.
It might not be wise to use a reserved word like "SORT" as a tagname.
I tried it and even that worked fine.

Than you for the information that it works fine in an other environment. This did get me on the track.
I moved the projekt to an other computer - an it works there!!!. It works also in runtime-environment on every computer i tryed. Then I had "just" to reinstall VFP to my development-engine.

"sort" was just a pedagogic expression.

Thank you for testing. It did put me on the right track. I did move the project to another computer and - it worked!!
It also works in in runtime on all computers.

All I have to do is "just" to reinstall VFP to my development-computor (I think)

The great M$ has its own ways, that is hidden for a ordinary programmer.
