Hi All, I Configured the call route to be on Reception extension, is there any way let other set to pick up the incoming call in case the receptionist is not on her desk.
ideally receptionist would put DND or out of group on when they walk from their desk for long periods...
then have other ext in the group so call is presented to next available immediately.
if just left to ring at reception group, there are a number of pickup codes from *30 (not real useful on a big site as it does system wide longest ringing call pickup)
*31 is a group pickup, so they members of same group can pickup ringing calls. perhaps include other next tier in that group, but dont have them ring?
*32*Ext# is a direct pickup of a particular extension, so *32*700# and that will be fine if you're sending the call to the extension rather than a hunt group.
Or, just set an overflow group including staff and a bell to ring after so many seconds of not answered by reception.
If the call is programmed in ICR goes directly to the receptionist extension then in ICR you can set the fallback destination to another target, if for the receptionist vm is off and no redirect destinations are programmed then putting the receptionist on DND will force the calls to be presented to the fallback destination.
Put a "User" button on all handsets that is set to the Receptionist in the Action data, that will flash when he/she has a call and can be pressed to pick the call up, be aware that with no call alerting it can be pressed to call the Receptionist so if 3 people all press it at roughly the same time the first will get the call the others will ring the Receptionist
Fix for above is to use a group with just Reception in and give them a "group" button, basically same setup but with no call alerting the button does nothing
I mean you ask : "can the incoming call ring in the reception and blinking on all others, so they can see that there is an incoming call and they can pick up"
This is so a basic BLF feature, any starting IPO installer should know that
I understand your frustration intrigrant. These steps are clearly outlined in the HELP in manager. They are also covered in a basic administration course. Take the course if you are new!
I already answered him/her though, obviously help isn't appreciated, even when freely given.
That being said I often seem to suffer from Invisible post syndrome
ihack,
you've been given some very good options on how to accomplish this task, and yet you ask for more.
1. Route it to a huntgroup with an overflow containing another user
OR
2. Put a USER button on another users phone with the receptionist as action data. That button will light up when a call comes in.
OR
3. But a bridged or coverage appearance button on the other users phone tied to the receptionist
OR
4. Put a GROUP button on another users phone so they can see calls in the group and pick them up.
OR
5. Put both users in the main group, ring them sequentially, give the receptionist a DND button. When she is not available it'll ring to the other user.
OR
6. Put a NIGHT/LUNCH button on the receptionist phone, that sets her group to fallback, which rings another group with the user you need in it.
You want step by step details. Don't we all. Luckily the manager program is easy as heck to use.
I don't want to come off as rude, but you really should do yourself a favor and take some courses and read documentation. The HELP button in manager is very useful too. This forum really is meant for problems encountered by systems engineers and technicians, not general inquiries on how to do very basic administration. We've all spent countless hours and dollars/euros/yen/caps/septims learning this stuff.
I know the adage, teach a man to fish, feed him for a lifetime; but you have to at least know that water is wet first.

if you require further step by step instruction on how to achieve this please raise a purchase order & I will be happy to spend as long a necessary on the phone talking you through this.
Alternatively follow AAcons instructions.
If you try to do things on the cheap it will cost you dear.
