Hi all, I have a problem that I can't seem to figure out so if anyone can point me in the right direction I'd appreciatte it alot. The Norstar is a MICS 4.1 with NVM 4.0. I have a T1/PRI plugged in to the Norstar. I also have added an analog loop wired into one of the 4 trunk ports of a CI card which is Line052. I want to direct all calls coming into this analog trunk to a digital extension. So I have assigned Line052 to the extension as line appearance but when the line is not answered it goes to general mailbox and not the mailbox of the extension that it appears on. If I do a Feature 4 and forward the digital phone to vmail ext, then calls coming into the analog Line052 go directly to the vmailbox of the digital extension but the drawback is that I can't answer it. I have made the analog line private to the digital ext, but what else am I missing?

the phone needs to be fowarded to VM in programming. There are other things that could be happenning. If that does not do it, or you dont know how, you should call your vendor.

the digital ext is programmed to go to vmail ext after 4 rings in capabilities/fwd no answer.

make sure the trunk is prime to digital set and not assigned to a ring group or a AA on vm...if not sure get a vendor to do it

ski season has started

for the trunk line, it is private to digital ext, prime set is the digital ext and clid set is the digital ext.

I hv tried ringing group too and it still goes to general mailbox and not the digital ext mailbox when RNA.

May be a silly question ....but you said you programmed it to appear on set but did you make it appear and ring?

Yes, it's appear and ring which works fine when a call is coming in, but when it goes to vmail it goes to the general mailbox instead of the individual mailbox of the digital ext it appears & rings on. I'm sure it's going to be some silly setting I'm missing right now.

that usually happens when the extension in question either does not have a mailbox, or if it has one it is not initialized.you may want to check in your mailbox admin to make sure the extension is assigned to the mailbox.....in other words it is NOT a guest mailbox.

The subscriber mailbox is setup properly and initialized.

What happens when you call the Ext.internally from another ext and let it ring? Does it go to the mailbox or to the Gen. Delivery?

I think luv2ski mentioned this...check in vm AA programming. It works fine when you do Feature 4, right? Then check if line 052 is set to be answered by the NAM after 4 rings. AA (no tree sends to GD MB) takes precedence over FNA (pers MB) if number of rings are the same. Either change the AA setting to a higher # of rings or turn it off.

DDionne, you're right, that's what it was, the digital ext. rings setting has to be less than GD MB (AA). I increased the AA to answer line 052 after 5 rings and the digital ext mailbox answers now at 4 rings instead of the GD MB. Thank you so much. Thanks to everybody who posted, helping me get to the bottom of this issue.
