G'day,
I mentioned previously that I am a disabled combat veteran living on a fixed income, unable to work ...... and words could not express how grateful I am for the iutstanding advice and suggestions on fixing, or trying to fix what most of you would call a computer relic, but it's all I have to work with for the family. But, to show my appreciation for the advice and help, I will bloody well make a donation from my next military disability payment to this Organization, I am sure it will not come close to being the largest you have received, or the smallest but it will be my way of saying "Cheers Mate" for the help.

So here I go again. I have several photos from Iraq & Afghanistan and other personal photos saved on my desktop, and in Folders on my Hard Drive. For some unknown reason, when I try to "Tick:" open or Right click on a photo to open it, I get this error message: C:\Windows\Desktop\US Blue Angels.Jpg Is Not A Valid Win 32 Application

So I went to other folders on my computer to see what happened when I tried to open a photo, exact message every time, I cannot open any photos, no matter the format without getting that Error. I have had more problems the past week with this computer than I ever had with my M4, can someone, again please help me out.

It sounds like the file association with the programme has either been broken or changed. Ordinarily Explorer is usually used as the default to open JPEG files.

Check this out:-

1. Open Windows Explorer and on menu bar click on View, then Folder Options.

2. Click File Types tab and go down the list of Registered File Types until you find JPEG Image.

3. Click once on this file type, and the box below will show which programme is set to open JPEG (.JPG) files. The default is IEXPLORE.

4. If it isn't, then click the Edit button which takes you to an Edit File Type screen. Now click the Edit button which is lower down the screen and check what's in the Application Used to Perform Action box. By default it should read:-

"C:\PROGRA~1\INTERN~1\iexplore.exe" -nohome

You can either change it to this manually, or click the Browse button and find it within your file structure.

The above assumes you're using Microsoft Internet Explorer as your default browser. Put in as appropriate, if you're using Firefox or whatever.

Hope that helps...

ROGER - G0AOZ.
