I have an OLE object field on a form. Everytime I insert a picture into this field it appears as an icon. I have my properties set to content. It is driving me crazy. Can anyone help.

This is just a possibility. If you are inserting images other than Bitmaps (.bmp), I think you need a Graphics package installed on your PC. Something like Paint Shop Pro. Just a thought.

Thanks Bill. It appears to be doing it with BMP's as well.

The only other thing I can think of is that maybe your File Types aren't Registered.

To check this, open Windows Explorer, (This might vary slightly depending on which Version of Windows you are using). From the Menu select Tools->> Folder Options, Select the File Types Tab, scroll down to see if BMP, JPG, JPEG etc are Listed. If they are, then that's not the problem. If they're not, come out of Folder Options, while in Windows Explorer find a .bmp file, double-click on it. You should get a Popup "Open With" Window, select Paint. For .jpg, .jpeg etc repeat the previous instructions, but select your Graphics Package as the "Open With". This procedure will Register your File Types and you will, if this was the problem, have to re-insert your Images in your App.

I'm out of suggestions now.

Good Luck

I had a similar problem which I posted yesterday. After tweaking a bit and looking at the example of Northwind db that comes with access, i found out that i needed to store my images as .bmp files. Once I did that, the image is showing well in the object control on the form.
So that should help. Try inserting ur images as bmp files again, and using a form wizard just create a form to seeif that works. Using a wizard allows access to work its own way. Later u can modify the form.
Let me know if u made any progress.

Thanks..That could well be the problem. I will give it a go.

I am probably pushing my luck for support....but no luck.
I have ensured BMP are associated with PAINT. Have reinstalled access. I still only get an icon. The icon is a very small version of the actual picture with the name listed beneath. It is different from the actual icon setting where you get a default icon for all.
I have tried it in a basic database with one table and 2 fields with a form wizard....something is not happening.
Is it possible to email it to someone to see if it is something really obvious that I have overlooked.

Help?
I am still having the same problem as when I first posted. I am unable to insert an image and have it display as "content". All settings appear to be correct. I have reformatted and put on windows and access...nothing more. Still no luck.

Any other thoughts.
