Hello all,

Is anyone aware of an add-on module for the i2004 series of phones? There seems to be some conflicting reports. MY Nortel vendor says yes (but can't produce a part #) and phone vendor says no. If any one has a link or an answer I would certainly appreciate it. Thanks for looking.

there is one which enables u to have a single cable drop to the office -
ie u share a single ethernet connection for your phone and computer

Thanks for replying. The add-on module I am referring to would be to add additional keys to the set. Anything like that?

In looking at the stats on the phone, it doesn't say anything about add-on modules like the 2616's and 3904's and 5's, although the i2004 looks like the same body style as the i2004. You would think there would be an add-on, or sometimes referred to as a key expansion, module. Nothing in eBay either other than the phones themselves.

Comming out this fall, is the addition of a display-based IP Key Expansion Module (i24 KEM) as an accessory module for the i2004 and i2002. The i24 KEM supports 48 additional line appearances per module bringing the total to 60 lines supported by combination of the i2004 and the i24 KEM.

Thanks Fletch! Vendor did come through with this a few minutes ago, just a little additional info on the requirements and such. I appreciate you taking the time to help me out.

Nortel Networks is planning to introduce an IP Phone Key Expansion Module (KEM) which will be available in Q3 2004. The lead platform is Succession 1000 and it will require Succession Release 4.0 or later software.
The IP Phone KEM can be an ideal solution for customer environments where they are seeking additional line appearances that they wish to centralize but do not require the scalability of an attendant console solution. The IP Phone KEM comes with 24 display based keys and up to three KEM’s (call server dependent) can be supported of an IP Phone 2002 or 2004 (note that IP Phone 2001’s do not support accessories).
There is an optional wall mount kit that is available for the KEM. When wall mounting with an IP Phone 2004, a separate wall mount kit (exists today) must be purchased for the 2004 set itself. IP Phone 2002 sets can be wall mounted using the KEM wall mount kit itself (a bracket for the 2002 Phone is also included in this kit).
The IP Phone KEM is also supported via power over LAN. However, it should be noted if cascading up to three KEM’s, there is the possibility that a local power supply may be required to support the phone. This may vary by call server. Consult call server documentation.

Notes: Meridian 1/Succession 1000/1000M - Supports maximum of 48 additional soft keys (1 KEM with use of the shift function or 2 KEM’s w/o shift).
Support for the KEM on BCM – Plan of intent in 1H ‘05
