Hi,
Till date I have been working in other companies developing projects, but now I want to start my own Software Solutions Company which will provide solutions in the area of Security and Databases. I also want to provide security consulting solutions to companies who want to modify the existing security architecture.
Please let me know your suggestions and any other links which will be useful.

Thanks,
RPK.

There are literally hundred of companies that provide
these types of services and thousands that provide
them in some sort of additional service package.

I suggest you take a look at the creator of Nessus'
own security company as an idea of how one might get
started given some reputation in the comunity.

Security is a good area to be in now. But if you are going into business, it is more important to be a salesperson than a techie.

It's tough right now. But if you have a possible client base, give it a shot.

Best advice I was ever given was make a chart, the name of which I fergit. But basically, you list yourself and your competitors. What each of you offers, and for what price. Then adjust what you do so that you beat your competitors in enough key areas, not necessarily always in price... actually is better if you're plain beating them in time to completion, or services offered. If you can't do that, rethink things until you can.
