I have a subform displaying a table in a datasheet view for the purpose of being able to edit on column from the datasheet only. However, I can't seem to figure out how to prevent data from the other columns from being edited. Is this possible, or is there another way to display the table in a datasheet style while being able to lock out certain columns for editing?

How are ya Cyntalan . . .

In design view of the subform have you tried setting the [blue]Locked[/blue] property to yes for the other columns?

Currently, unless I'm mistaken on how to set it up in design mode, I did try setting the text boxes that represent each column in the datasheet as locked, but that didn't seem to affect it any. Also, selecting a column in datasheet view doesn't give you an individual setting for locked, only the form as as whole, which doesn't seem to help any.

Are you say when you lock a field in design view by setting its [blue]Locked[/blue] property to [blue]Yes[/blue], you can edit the field in DataSheet view?

By "didn't seem to affect it any", I meant that the column in datasheet view was still editable.

Cyntalan . . .

I have A2K and this is not a problem (locked fields in datasheet view are uneditable).

Try using a continuous form (you can make it look just like datasheet). Should work.

[blue]BTW: you loose alot of form functionality in datasheet view![/blue]
