I have setup two hunt groups. The hunt group form 17 will properly start from the access code, go to the first extension. After that, the other extensions will not ring as part of the hunt group. It is my understanding that the hunt group rings the first extension, if they are busy, or DND, or do not answer the phone, it should roll to the next extenstion. Could I have COS that is not configured correctly?

No your understanding is not correct, The hunt group will only search once for an available station then ring that station. If a member is not at their desk, they should use DND to prevent issues.

A workaround is to program the group as circular and set the No Ans forwarding of the station back to to group.

kwbMitel,

We use 4025 SuperSet phones. I have been testing and if my first extension is busy, i.e. on the phone, it will not roll to the second extension it goes to the mailbox of the phone extension. If it is on DND, then it will go to the second extension. Can you shed some light on this? Forgive me here but what am I missing.

Also, the requirements for the application is a hunt group that goes to the first extension, then rolls to the second and then if that does not pick up back to the voice mailbox of the first. Can it be done on the this system. This is the first time working on a Mitel. I usually have always dealt with Nortel's and Meridian phone systems.

Hunt Groups on the SX200 are not designed to go to voicemail.

Something is out of whack with your description of the behaviour though. The Hunting should occur if the first set is Busy or in DND. The hunting ignores forwarding except for no answer forwarding.

give us more details on the system software version your on.

Is the hunt group terminal or circular?

Anything else you feel might help

Are you dialling the HUNT GROUP DN or the Extension in a HUNT GROUP? If dialling the extension and you want it to hunt, forward the extension to the HUNT GROUP pilot DN.

Just out of curiosity, do you have any ACD licenses in form 4 that you might not know about?

You can't believe anything you read... unless of course it's this sentence.

kwbMitel,

I agree with you about the hunting. If the phone is on busy or on DND, it should roll. This is what is driving me nuts. Here is the configuration. We have an 800 number that sends a DNIS 4 digit number. The DNIS number hits the same extension with a voice mailbox. I have configured the voicemail box on our Octel VMX 200 for a single-digit auto attendant. 1 for hunt group 1, 2 for the other hunt group. Works perfect. The hunt group setup in form 17, has a 4 digit access code and both hunt groups are on terminal. I know that hunt groups are not designed to go to a voice mail box. Here is the flow of one of the hunt groups. Hunt Group Access Code 6314--->6343---->5029. When you ring 6314 or press 2 it goes to 6343, if 6343 is on a DND, rolls fine to 5029, if 6343 is busy it goes to her voice mail box. It should roll to 5029.

We are using hunt group DN. No need for the extension to go back into the hunt group.

Negative on the ACD licenses.

AqualungIT,

You still haven't made note of your software version.

I suspect you have encountered a bug at this point but only the software version will make me sure.

I would be interested to know what happens if you disable all forwarding for the first extension (don't forget any routing that might apply in form 19)

I have utilized the quirk that hunt groups ignore busy/always forwarding to my advantage for ages. I am very confident on the normal functioning.

Our Software Version is LW17 K33

It is on a Mitel SX-200 Light PABX

Thanks for all the help.

Can you test by removing the forwarding from the first station and making the first station busy.

We need to veryfy that forwarding is a factor. I find it very unlikely at this point considering how old your software is and the fact that I have not seen this before.

At this point it seems more likely that there is some quirk in your setup that is creating this behaviour. Discovering it may take some guesswork.
