I've setup a hunt group set to rotary with DN 291 that acts as a receptionist if customers would like to speak to someone. The greeting says, press 291 to reach an operator, it then rings to the various phones within the HG. The members of the HG have their lines to appear, so I know there will be a conflict, however, if noone answers the call, the call is transferred to a voicemail box.

Now, I don't know which VM box this is, and it says that the voicemail box is full. I know it's not any of the members of th HG's voicemail boxes, since I've checked to make sure none of theirs were full.

My question is, what VM box is this going to, and is it possible to setup and use this mailbox as a general VM box? Setting up the HG properly, i.e., setting their lines to not appear and ring, is not an option. Any suggestions?

The General Delivery Mailbox, if you extensions are 3 digit then it should be mailbox 100.

Hawks: That was it, Ext 100. I didn't even know it was there. There were 50 messages in that mailbox, some as old as our phone system. I initialized it and recorded a new message.

Now, is there a way to send a message waiting notification to my phone, or do I have to just check it periodically?

If your phone is not assigned another mailbox then you can assign it to that box. If you already have a mailbox with your phone assigned then I think you'll just have to check it. Box 100 is there to catch messages that don't know where else to go.

If you cannot assign 100 to X221 because there is a 221 MB then yes you can setup off premise notify to call internaly.
To set it up F981/Login/8/6

curlycord, that did it. Now I get notified anytime there is a message waiting in the general delivery voicemail box. Thank you!

I now have one more issue regarding the message notification. Is it possible for Flash to leave a message in my voicemail or do I have to be present to receive the notification? As it stands, if I'm not at my desk when Flash calls to notify that there's a message in box 100, it hangs up after around 3-4 rings, but does not leave a message in my voicemail telling me there's a message waiting. Is there a way to have it leave a message in my voicemail box?

You should get a message saying- you have a message, blah, blah. Please enter your password to retreive your messages...

That's the problem. It's not doing that. It will ring to my phone, but it stops ringing before my voicemail picks up. My phone is set to ring 4 times before VM picks up. The screen says FLASH is calling. It then tries to call 1 other time, then leaves a message in the General Delivery box saying, "The system was unable to reach the number you specified for message notification.

If it's a NAM or Call Pilot try to edit the Class Of Service by changing attempts from 4 to 1 (I think default is 5).

"The system was unable to reach the number you specified for message notification."
That is just saying "hey i tried to tell you that there is a message in 100 but you did not answer my 4 calls to you" so you then need to check 100.
It will not forward the message auto.

You also could have the Off Prem notify the Hunt Group DN instead of just one person.....this way anyone in the hunt group can login and listen.

or

If you want you could share the mailbox of 100 instead of have to deal with 2 of them.
Do that you just change the name of the General Delivery to Joe Blow then record a greeting "Hi this is Joe Blow, you have reached our general mailbox, please leave a message and we will get back to you when we feel like it".
