Just a quick question about hunt groups...

We have created a few hunt groups (MICS 5.0) & given them names to help identify them, so a representative knows how to answer a call.

Instead of the name of the hunt group appearing on the display, the line name appears instead (we do not have caller ID).

If a hunt group call comes in over a target line (between facailities), then the name of the hunt group appears.

Is there a way to have the hunt group name appear instead of the line name, for POTS ?

(On another note, I created a hunt group that is broadcast in our warehouse, that rings all phones, over a target line. If you want to freak someone out, change the name of that hunt group to "SOMEONE" or "I AM"... ;-) )

The target line that rings at all phones is only assigned to the hunt group. It was created if I'm trying to get ahold of someone at the warehouse off-hours (short of paging).

The hunt groups that I'm refering to where the "line" name is appearing are not target lines. They are assigned to copper lines, that do appear & ring at the console (basically used in the AA for the CCR).

Lines that appr&rng, appr only or ring only on a phone will take precendence over the hunt group programming.

So when the POTS line comes in, it will not go into the hunt group, it will simply ring on the phones that have those lines assigned.

It seems as though the POTS lines that are supposed to be following hunt group programming are not actually going into the hunt group because of the other appearances on physical phones.

Those POTS lines assigned to a hunt group cannot in any way, shape, or form be assigned to anything else.

The calls are going into the hunt groups, when the caller takes the option from the CCR (ie. for Customer Service, press 2).

The calls are just not identified as the hunt group name.

Fortunately, the recipient of the call does know that it is a "hunt group" call, because the ring-pattern is different than that of an internally transfered call.

Thanks for your help.

Is it ringing in on the Hunt Group Button or the Line Button?

Ah, I see!!
But those POTS lines are still assign directly onto the console physical phone? As well as in the AA?

Where on the recipiants phones do the hunt group calls come in? IC path or a specified button. If you do a F*0 and press that button does it say the right hunt group?

There is no "Hunt Group Button". The members on the hunt group are set to "Ring Only", so the call comes in on one of their Intercom buttons.

We have 13 POTS lines, which are all set to appear & ring on the former receptionist's phone, but get answered by the AA on the first ring.

We are keeping the POTS lines on the phone for our own analysis reasons.

So, POTS 1 line gets called, busy (phone co), goes to 2, goes to 3, etc., so the hunt groups are not specific to the lines, just as a transfer extension in the CCR.

$10 bucks says that those lines are NOT going into the hunt group at all!!

That is your problem! The lines HAVE to come off the console phone in order for the call to follow hunt group programming properly and for them to show the hunt group name with incoming calls.

To test this theory, assign the members of the hunt to Appr&Rng. This gives them a button. Then call in and press the option off the tree to go to that hunt group. Then go to a members phone and see if the call is coming in on the hunt group button or the IC path.

I'll give the Apprea & Ring theory a try after business hours.

I did call in & test the "hunt groups" from the CCR with the "ring only", and they all did what they were supposed to -- ring at phone 1 for x rings, move onto phone 2 for x rings, phone 3, until the queue timeout occurred, then it went to overflow, which is a supervisor's extension, then to his voicemail..

Thanks anyways

You know what... you're right.(getting $10 outta my pocket)

Without the AA, the above would be true but when you throw in the AA, it is different. The call is being answered before the hunt group programming kicks in.

I'm thinking that the line has to be assigned directly to the hunt group for it to come in and show the hunt group name. Otherwise it sees the call as a transferred call from another ext and will either show name or number or the line it came in on.
