Hello,

I have a MICS 6.1 with Startalk Flash VM 4 port here and am trying to do the following:

1. Have incoming calls ring hunt group (717), and if not answered within certain # of rings go to HG VM box (mbx 717). - this part is already done.

2. Have some way to press a button on a supervisor's M7310 phone in order to have access to mbx 717. He wants the button to behave like F981 would on a normal mbx. By this, I mean: he presses the button, enters in password, and then goes directly into mbx 717. - can this be done, and if so how?

3. If # 2 cannot be done, is there a way to have mbx 717 to autoforward messages to a different mbx (say 228, for example) - can this be done, and if so how?

4. Also, is there any way to internal message notification for mbx 717 to be displayed on another phone (say 228, for example)?

Sorry for so many questions at once, but I am trying to grapple with these problems quickly.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Answer to question 2. Put the Supervisors ext in Alt1 ext: for Mailbox 717. They'll have Message for you on there display. The supervisor can't have another mailbox assigned to that ext. if you do this.

3. Nope

4. Yes, look at the answer for question 2.

ok, good.

How do I assign an extenson to be a Alt1 ext: for Mailbox 717?

Also, do you mean that ext 228 won't be assigned to mailbox 228 anymore?

Go into Feature 983
Login
Press MBOX
Press CHG
Mailbox: 717
Press next until you see Alt1 ext:
There you will put in the Supervisor's extension.
Press RLS

Leave a message in Mailbox 717 and watch the Message for you show up on the Supervisor's ext. Press message on the display, put in the password for mailbox 717. And that's it. Good luck.

If you want messages for mailbox 717 to be displayed on ext 228. 228 can't have it's own mailbox. Mailboxes can have upto three phones assigned to it. But phones can't have multiple mailboxes assigned. How would the system know how to route the call to the appropriate mailbox.

I don’t think Flash has the option for alt. extension (correct me if I wrong.)

So- if that is the case- you can just set up mbx 717 to remote notify (internally) to the supervisors ext.

ok, thank you very much for helping me out.

oops, I replied a little too soon.

bkrike - how do I remote notify (internally) to the supervisors ext?

This sounds like a viable option - that is, if it allows the supervisor phone to still be tied to its own mailbox.

The main point in all of this, is some sort of notification - preferably without outdial - that can let our IT dept know when there are new msgs.

yes he can keep his own mbx and have remote (internal) notify of another.

set it up in mbx 717- it is covered in the manual.

ok, thanks again.

I will go take a look in the startalk manual.
