Finally get my Hunt Group set up and point one of my CCR menu items to it. Problem is, one of the sets in the HG is not ringing. I have all sets at "Appear Only". I've read to turn of appear for HG sets, but this won't let them make outgoing calls.

Help!

But the other sets are that way and they ring. Plus, the non-HG sets ring when the appropriate menu item is selected. Just the one phone in the HG doesn't ring (or show the line indicator). Because the phones are physically close to each other, she can hear the other phone ring, but she cannot pick up the line since it is not being directed to her.

Ideas?

As Cook stated - Appear only is it only flashes, no ringing.
Maybe, the phones are so close together that you think they ring?

The one girl is not in the same pick up group as the others.

Here is what's weird... and I honestly don't know how to fix it.

ALL sets in the system are set "Appear Only". All menu items that point to a direct extension work fine, and the appropriate set rings. Ext 227 for some reason rings when and outside call is coming in, despite it being set as "Appear Only". Extensions 221, 226, and 227 are in HG1 (ext 290), which CCR Path 1 points to. When I ring 290 from another set, all three ring (broadcast). When I dial into the CCR Menu and press "1", only set 221 rings. I cannot figure out why the other two sets do not ring on an outside line.

I'm fairly new at this, and I do have both programming books for the CICS and the StarTalk but I'm still clueless here. Please help a newbie!

Have you checked the CCR path to see where the "press 1" option is actually directing the call. Sounds like it is being sent to ext 221 not your hunt group DN of 290.

As for 227 ringing when the line calls in check to see if it is set as the control/prime set for that line.

Thanks to MikeD for showing me my error! Turns out I thought I had indeed set it for x290... but I forgot to disable the CCR tree when I changed the path... sure enough it was still set to x221! I went back, disabled the tree, re-set Path 1, re-enabled the tree, and voila! It works.

Now one more thing in relation to Hunt Groups. I noticed that a group number will simply ring. I'd like for the call to drop into a VM box if it is not answered after a few rings. Can I work an HG ext just like I do any other?

This it what I used to do:

-Overflow to vmails DN
-Create mailbox # same as HG DN
-Go into mailbox and setup Off prem Notify to call Internal and the HG's DN.
Now when nobody in HG answers it will go to the mailbox, when a message is left it will call the HG every half hour or what ever your COS is set to for that mailbox.

Does the Admin setting the mbox outdial affect the off prem msg notification set from the mbox login? I have it set to "none" in Admin and to "Ext 221" in mbox login.

It should be noted that since I set it up there has been 1 message in 290's box and no notification to ext 221.

Gen Dev is off. I guess I'm missing some important thing. 21 is in HG290 along with 226 and 227. I think I have it set to notify 221 when there is a message in 290's box, but it doesn't seem to be going. The Admin setting doesn't allow for IC, just LINE and POOL.

I'm quite the newbie here when it comes to programming Norstar. Although I have both the CICS and StarTalk manuals, it's still clear as mud.

Forgot to mention I have never tried to setup the message lamp in this scenario, just the off prem because no sense sending the lamp to one phone when instead you can have the whole Hunt Group ring when a message is left.

I guess then x221 cannot have its own mbox, since when I try to admin change the Ext: it says "Ext Assigned". Maybe I need to install another set up front just for catching HG290 voicemails.

What would truly be better is if there is a message in the HG290 mailbox that notification would go to the entire group, and someone would check the mbox. For some reason I cannot get this to work.
