Hunt Group forward from an extension

We recently reconfigured our CCR to transfer to hunt groups (MICS 5.0)

The hunt groups are setup as rotary, and overflows to a designated voicemail box.

One of the groups has 2 members in it. One of the members will be going on vacation, and would like all calls that ring at her phone to ring at someone else's.

I tried forwarding her calls to another person, and then tried accessing the hunt group via the CCR.

When it is time for her phone to ring, her phone rings -- the calls are not bounced to a different person.

Is there a way around this, or do I need to physically change the hunt group members every time someone who is in a hunt group goes on vacation?

yep you got to reconfigure the hunt group

Try using Do not Disturb Feature 85.

I tried DND, along with the call forward, and it doesn't work.

I just tried something else, which isn't very elegant, but it does the job...

We have a "dummy phone" on the wall for this particular hunt group, so they can see when there is a message in the mailbox.

The phone's extension is the overflow DN for the hunt group. The phone is always set to forward to voice mail.

By changing the forwarding of that phone to an "overflow" person, it will ring at the covering person's extension, before going to voicemail.

The only downside to this is the backup person isn't treated in the "rotary" fashion. But, it is simple for them to invoke, and doesn't require any phone system changes.

I apologize I read right over top of the fact that you wanted to forward the phone. Hunt groups take precedence over call forwarding. The only "clean" way is to reconfigure the hunt group.
