We have an Avaya IP office 500 system and I can't get the time sync to work. I've used the IP address of our Domain server, of which provides time sync for our Microsoft domain. I used an external time sync server IP address and I'm still seeing errors in the system log.

Anyone out there have better luck? If so, share with me what IP address I should use.

Thank you!

if you have a voice mail pro server then use that for you time source

We have vmail pro, and it is the UC module, not on a server and it is the time source. However, still getting errors in the log "no response from time server". I would like to see this error resolved. Thanks!

Ususally the local gateway router or the DHCP server responds to time requests.
use the clock in your PC down at the right, click configur and choose internet time, put in the ip address of the gateway and see if it will sync, if it doesn't try the DHCP server or the DNS server. A domain controller onle reply on time requestst for domain users.

do you have your dns setting configured as this is how it gets out to the internet

We do have DNS configured. We do not use DHCP. Any other ideas? Thank you.

enable the windows time service on a server other as the domain controller or on a daily used workstation, be creative

Make sure that you have the proper Gateway configured under Ip Route

Check your ip routing
Can the IPO/UCM ping the time server?
What to the logs on the time server say?
Have you configured the IPO for NTP or used the default settings & sent an IP address (this uses the older RFC 868 not the more modern NTP)
