I'd like to have a tree view on a form that lets the user view their disk / network, identify a file, and the capture the full path of the file selected to store in a field, so that I can create a hyperlink back to it in future. Is there an active x control, or tree view object that I can place on the form ?

Simon,

Populating the tree would be the problem. Think about using the common dialog control instead. It would be considerably easier to program.

Thanks Craig,

I'm affraid I failed to get the control to work from scratch, and could not load the class into my project (stretching my codeing skills here... - BUT I did manage to import a form from chapter 17 of of The Access 2000 Developers Handbook, and import the class into my database, and jiggered with it and IT WORKS.

I now have a button that pops up a browser, picks a file and lets me grab the file path. Many thanks, once I knew what to look for, your tip was great.

Thanks

Dear Simon

Perhaps you could help me out.

I need the code to attach to the command button, so that when user clicks it on a data-entry form, it allows him/her to browse the hard drive for .gif/.jpg images. When user selects the image its full path and name are recorded in a field called ImagePath.

Thanks

AbbyAnu.
