Hi!
how to monitor trunk and extension in NEAX ?
It´s possible?

If you have an MA 4000 management system you can monitor both of these items from one screen. If you dont the only way i know to monitor trunks is the SRTS command. You can also monitor individual extensions using the DCON command. What NEAX are you looking at ICS,IMX,IPX,SV8500?

Thanks for your ansewr.

Actually , I have an 2000IPS and use the Matworx for configuration.

Thanks in advanced!!

FlavioMiranda,

What are you trying to monitor? Are you trying to monitor an ongoing conversation or just want to monitor what phone calls are made and received from a given extension?

I´m trying monitor what phone calls are made and received from a given extension.

Thanks!

FlavioMiranda,

You would first have to have SMDR enabled in the 2000IPS. If you aren't familiar with this, it's basically a text log that gets sent either through a serial connection or an IP connection when a phone user hangs up from making or taking a call.

It's simply ascii text that includes the extenion number, time, date, duration, trunk route and trunk number, caller id if inbound and other info about that call that just took place.

Most people will then purchase a Call Accounting Software Package to parse this info into reports. Your local NEC dealer should be able to help you with obtaining this software or you can google "Call Accounting Software".

The one we have had good success with is the Trivium Call Analyst. It's affordable and simple to setup.

Sorry, I answered your question wrong. Actualy, I need monitor the ocupation of the trunks and extensions. For example, I need to see whether a trunk is able or not. The same for the extations.

FlavioMiranda,

Not sure what you mean then. Do you mean you want to see if an extension or trunk in in use or not?

This can be done using MOC within MatWorx. Use Command E8.

Ex: E8>1250-D35 (This shows ext. 1250 is connected to Trunk 35)

Ex: E8>D100-3301 (This shows trunk 100 is connected to extension 3301)

If you see "error" then the trunk or extension is not in use. Hope this helps.

Exactly. Sorry for my bad english . Thank you very much, canselmi.

Canselmi,

Ex: E8>1250-D35 (This shows ext. 1250 is connected to Trunk 35)
I tried to use e8>extation-trunk but the Metworx does not acept the character "-" . How I to do for separate both?

Thanks.

FlavioMiranda,

It would be two seperate entries.

E8>1250 (to see extension connection status)

E8>D035 (to see trunk connection status)

Example:
Command:E8 [space]
E8>1250 [space]
E8>1250-error (shows 1250 be idle)

[F3]

E8>D035 [space]
E8>D035-3301 (shows trunk D035 connected to ext 3301)
