How to forward phone to an automated attendant?

Hello all,
How can I give users an option to forward a phone (8405 on Definity G3si v.12) to an automated attendant and take it back as they need it? For a few hours every day the phone will be unattended and the inbound calls will need to go through an automated attendant.

Why dont you just build a vdn and vector and have them forward to that. You can still make it feel like a AA to the users and the caller
 
just program a button on the phone to call forward all calls to a VDN which points to the vector...

I was considering this way but thought it was to long, not that I mind writing a vector once in a while. Unfortunately I do not deal with this on the regular bases and pretty sure I miss something.
