Dear Friends,

I wanted to know how can I downgrade AVAYA IP Office 500 R8 8.0.8 to R7.

I would like to downgrade due to Activate Teleworker Licence in R7 Version, otherwise I have to go for Preferred Edition Licence just to use AVAYA Teleworker Licence.

I have downloaded 7.0.26 IP office Manager, tried to upgrade. But it fails.

I would like the step to Downgrade My AVAYA IP Office 500 R8 to R7.

Looking for your valuable support & Response.

-Thanks,
Sam.

Thanks,

Simply Removing SD Card and Formating will work.

Or Else...I need to Install AVAYA IP Office 500 7.0.26 and try to upgrade.

Any alternative solution please.

-Thanks,
Sam.

Go to upgrade, choose the directory where your R7 files are located. It should then come up in the upgrade wizard showing the R7 as an upgrade option.

Means do you want me to format SD Card

Or Install IP Office Manager 7.0.26 and upgrade??

You need to format the sd card using Manager. If you are not familiar with that process, I wouldn't do it. Have you gotten as far as being able to go to upgrade and have it see the directory with the R7 files? You need to be running R8 Manager on your pc for it to connect to the system since that is where the system resides now.

Thanks.....

Formatting seems risky.

Instead of I would prefer to go for ...the alternate option...like open IP Office Manager R8 and select the R7 Directory .....will try to downgrade to R7...hope that might work.

-Thanks,
Sam.

I put my R7 files on an external hard drive. Then use R8 on the pc to open manager. Go to file, upgrade, then choose the directory on your external drive that has the R7 files. You can put them anywhere though, just not in the same folder as the R8 files.

SD Card: Don't need to format, just recreate with an IP Office Release 7.0 version of Manager.

Yes Yes...I will try and get back to you..
Thank you soo much for your solution !!

-Sam.

I tried the same process to upgrade from....by open R8 IP Manager and gone to into directory preference change the path to R7 IP Office Manager Location....But when tried to upgrade it shows All Transfer Failed.

I couldnt make it.

Please help me to start using Teleworker licence.

-Thanks,
Sam

All this time you have spend would already covered the cost of the essential edition license :)

Thanks for your valuable suggestion.

Awaiting for valuable response from AVAYA Expert Professional.

Sam, it was a joke :)
What you really need to do is make a backup pf your config first.
then you stop the SD card and pull it out of the IPO.
To be save i always copy the whole card to my laptop.
Then i put it in my laptop and open manager.
Then i change the working directory to a folder with a manager version 7.0.x (latest)
Then i format it with manager (do not worry it works)
After the format i do a recreate and select the SD card.

when it is done then i go to the backup of the whole SD card and copy back the following files:

config file
smdr log file
call log file
46xxsettings.txt (when it is modified)

When you are done then you put it back in to the IPOffice.
Then give the IPOffice a reboot and then it should upgrade from the SD card (this takes a couple of minutes, do not be affraid)
When it is back up then it shold be on release 7.0
