How to change Outgoing call default is 9

I need a question, I used ip500v2 and was wondering how can I change the default outgoing number 9 to 8?

could you advise me?

Go to shortcodes and change 9N to 8N.

But then if you have the 9 being added to incoming numbers for callback ability you also need to change the prefix on the lines.

Don't forget emergency numbers if in the US, create a SC with 911 Dial emergency. This is for the stranger that is visiting and does not know to dial 8 for emergencies.

Indeed its become and becoming law in various states that 911 must be dialable rather than expecting users to have to add any other prefixes.

If you really feel its so important (and that Dial Emergency short code wasn't enough of a hint to any competent system maintainer - which we hope someone contemplating changing the outgoing dialing prefix is) then go ahead and answer it yourself. If you really meant to ask what would be a 911 short code because you want to know then be more honest in your asking.

I can never make it work so for all my installs I order a POTS line and analog set for each user and put a big label on the handset that reads "DIAL 911 HERE". Works like a charm. I change all the 9N shortcodes to 8N to eliminate the accidental 911 calls. Safety first!
