I'm having an issue with phone number 202-580-8200 calling in. I looked up this number and it seems lots of people have the same issue.

I contacted our carrier, and since the number is coming in on our 800 number into our call center, they can do nothing about a virtual number.

I'm running BCM 3.6 build 2.2

Transfer it to a mailbox that has the alternate greeting selected and receive message to "no". In that alternate mailbox greeting you could record a nice message for those callers...!
Also make sure to disable "outbound transfer" because these guys are probably trying to hack your bcm.

Sorry I was thinking of CCR which has disconnect option.

This is the kinda shit I do for telemarketers, maybe not for you but others like me who have a system at home.....also a great prank for those who are your friends trying to call you. There is so many things you could do or say.

Use Call ID routing and redirect to Table 4 and have it associated with CCR4
Table 4:
Set ATDNT as DN 000
Record a greeting # 10 and have it play morn aft ,eve and non biz "Thank you for calling"

CCR
Record path 0 "to continue in any language please press 1" now.
Record Path 1 "thanks for pressing 1, if you would like to speak with somebody right away please press 2"
Record Path 12 "we are sorry but it almost seems we are not in today?, to try again please press 3.
Record Path 123 "I'm sorry but you did not press 3, to continue press 4"
Record Path 1234 "I'm sorry but option 4 is no longer used, to start again please press 5.
Record Path 12345 "I'm sorry but option 5 is down for repairs, please press 6 to leave a message.
Make Path 123456 an INFO box.
Get some device that goes "beep"...record a message "Please leave a message after the tone them hold up your device to the handset and play your beep device to simulate the tone...wait 3 secs and play the beep device again, wait 3 seconds and play it again, wait 3 seconds and play it again.

The weird thing is this caller is a pre-recorded msg, or something. I always hear the same thing, and then it just hangs up. I sometimes hear faint talking in the background, a kid crying and thats it, they hang up.

I have read that this is a skype number, I wrote into skype but they will not respond.

I changed the way I answer the phone to see if there looking for a response.

I've also read many other stories of the same thing happening to other call centers.

Yep Skype, this mean a lot of users are calling you from PC's etc usualy with a recorded sound file.

Let us know if you stop getting these calls with your routing.

Todays technology the telco cant block a virtual number, not good.
