I'm having an issue with phone number 202-580-8200 calling in. I looked up this number and it seems lots of people have the same issue.

I contacted our carrier, and since the number is coming in on our 800 number into our call center, they can do nothing about a virtual number.

I'm running BCM 3.6 build 2.2

are you using disa? if the answer is yes, you can using the public received number make a automatic forward to the voicemail

if you are using did you can make the public received number equal to the outside number making a automatic forward to the voicemail

I do not have DID on this extension, so they must be coming in through his extension. If I use the public received number, where else can I forward it to.

The way an 800# works is the carrier that the 800 is coming from points it to ring on a number at your site in your case 580-8200 this sounds like a target line.
Now what is happening or not. What is the issue?

The system can not block the number but your phone co can. Not the 800 people.

The 580-8200 number is the number of the individual calling in from. This is not our number.

You could use "CLID routing" and point it to an Info node either CCR tree or mailbox.
Look in Call Pilot under "auto-attendant" then "CLID routing table".
When your AA receive a call from that number it will play a prompt(or not) then disconnect the call.
Is that number an IVR?

Sorry about that, I was confussed. Not sure how the number is coming in. I would assume the AA is answering and being transfered directly to the extension, bypassing the queue.

The user will be on the phone taking a queue call and the line will ring while he's on the phone, so it must be going direct to his extension.

In the CLID setup, should I put "202-580-8200" in the calling line id box?

I just put 2025808200 in the calling line ID box. I tried to put it in with the dashes, but it would not let me. I will see if this works.

It worked, I got the call transfered to my extension. It was a weird call, lots of noise and echo. Middle Eastern voice, would not respond to me, then hung-up, and called right back with the same deal.

Also, how could I avoid the charges for these calls, it's eating up our long distance minutes. Could I grab the line using clid and forward it to a dead extension.

As I and gberger stated above... log into F983, press 11, in there is all your choices, you can tell the call to go to a Tree, an info mailbox, disconnect or to a DN.
Use gbergers tip if you are using a browser.

Why would an inbound number eat up your LD minutes??
If they call you then they should get the charge....unless you mean your getting charged for each 800 call?.

There calling in on our 800 number

Also, the only options in the clid setup is transfer to table, ext, mb, or ccr tree.

No disconnect option
