Hi Everyone:

When setting a default for a particular field in an existing table, does anyone know if there is any chance that the setting will retroactively apply that default to any row that previously contain a NULL value for that field? And how to avoid it?

Thank you very much!

Ellen

Ellen148,

It will not affect any existing records. All new records created, of course, will have the default value, unless another value is entered.
