Hi,

We have a service desk voicemail box which is only active out of hours. Everything seems to be working however I am trying to set it up so when people call they are presented with a message saying that the office is closed and to call back later. The only issue is that it then aske they leave a message. Is there a way I can change this so it disconnects the call once the notification has been played?

Thanks in advance

Mo

There is no option to play a message and disconnect the line/caller through the VoiceMail system. Create a RAD with the message and place that Rad in a Voice Huntgroup. When the message of the RAD is played to the reroured/diverted caller the system will clear the line. This is an option.

There is a way to play the message and disconnect using embedded VM, the mailbox type should be set to menu node, then from the admin mailbox edit the menu node and set it to disconnect on time out, this will play the message (mailbox greeting) 3 times and then disconnect the call, no need to setup RADs

Just to add, I assume you are using the Mitel 3300 embedded VM, would help if this info was provided on the origianl post, thanks

Thanks for your reply's. We are using a 3300 however im not sure what/if it is an embedded VM :S

When I was in the Voicemailbox setting for the extension I did try set it to node however when I then dialed the vm number I got a message saying "that mailbox number is not vailed"

Any ideas as to why this is happening?

Thanks again.

Mo

If you are configuring the voicemail under the voicemail tab in the 3300 config tool, its embedded

How does the call route to the service desk? You will need to delete the mailbox and re-add as a menu node mailbox, use the same extension and mailbox number as the existing, the new greeting you record will be the message the caller recieves

Why not make it an information only mailbox, it won't clear down but neither will it take messages.

Thanks, I would be happy Information only if that means it will not accept any messages however when I do set it "Information Only" and dial the number I get a message sayings "that mailbox number is not vailed"

Thx

What number are you dialling when you get 'that mailbox number is not valid'?

so I dial the default vm number 457 then I press # and then I dial the service desk number 5333

Cheers
Mo

Okay, so 457 is the voicemail hunt group, press * when it answers and it should say please enter your mailbox number, is 5333 the mailbox or extension number? Obviously you need to enter the mailbox number

What stage are we upto? if the service number diverts to voicemail now what happens? Have you changed the mailbox type?

By pressing # and the MB # you are telling the system you want to leave a message for MB - of course the system will tell you that is invalid.

Menu node will repeat 3 times and then transfer to attendant (unless changed to hang up instead). usually people will hang up themselves. make sure to set the dial zero to loop back unless you want them to be able to dial zero

Info box will revert to Main Auto Att after 1 run thru. not changable

Test by calling the associated number that is routed to vm

Thanks kwbMitel, I must be honest that didnt even cross my mind :/

I will set it as you suggest and see how it goes. Regarding the the "Hang up" and "Dial Zero" I cant seem to find these options anywhere in the vm windows in mitel for this extension. Please forgive my ignorance :D

Thanks
Mo

from the help files said:
Setting up Multi-Level Auto Attendant (MLAA)

Changing a Menu Node Mailbox Time Out Behavior
Access the Administrator's Mailbox.

Press [2] to edit or delete mailboxes.
Press [2] for the Edit Mailbox menu.
Enter the mailbox number to edit.

Press [#] until you get to the Menu Node Time Out option. The system specifies the active Menu Node Time Out behavior:
"Disconnect on menu mailbox time out is disabled" – callers are sent to the mailbox operator upon time out.
"Disconnect on menu node time out is enabled" – callers are disconnected upon time out.

To disconnect callers upon time out, press [1] (enable disconnect).
To send callers to the mailbox operator upon time out, press [2] (disable disconnect).

Note: The default is "Disconnect on menu mailbox time out is disabled".

The system returns you to the mailbox.

Hi,

When I access the administrators mailbox and press 2 I get the message below played out to me.

"Im sorry, but the system isnt configured to support this feature at this time. Good bye"

I will be out of office today so please dont be offended if I do not reply today.

Thanks again for all your help.

Cheers

The voicemail options form has an option to enable the tui and to set the passcode
