I am trying to modify an access database created by my predecessor. i have a sql database that is linked to the access db and I successfully imported three linked tables. however, i can not remove the old links which are still linked to an existing database that will become obsolete.
I get the following error message:
You don't have permission to delete...
To delete this object, you must have Modify Design permission or Delete Data permission.
I tried to update the permissions on the tables, but i get a similar error message.
I had my security settings updated changed so that I had full control over the database, but nothing seems to work.
what can i do?
1) do i need to have the actual gui open and log in? will this make a difference? if I go this route, how can i also access the backend?
2) how do i successfully change the permissions for linked tables so that I can also unlink them?
3) there is no .mdw file as this database has been copied several times.
please advise.
Thanks in advance.
