I am trying to figure this out. I have a system with 4 lines and 7 DN's. Lines 1-3 ring the phones and then the A.A. answers , gives options and saves a message. ASll good and working fine.
Now the 4th Line we need to ring the phones (no problem), on no answer go to a voice mail box to take a message. Right now I have to sort of working. The call is being answered by one stations voice mail and they can leave a message.

What I need is to have that message to go a few people. I have a distro box setup on 901 but I can not figure out how to get the caller to that box. Or at least the message moved to it.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Distro and ASII ....never heard of those terms for voice mail.

901 would be "Group Mailbox" which is for internal usage such as supervisors leaving their team a message.
You cannot program a CCR path or forward a DN to a group mailbox.
You can however press *901 to leave a message. If you choose to allow external callers to access group mailboxes then you must say "enter star 901"
* is to leave a message to any mailbox without ringing the phone.

In you case the owner of the mailbox you have setup would have to "forward/copy" the message to 901 once they have heard it.

Possible work around:
Delete the subscribers mailbox behind that DN, create an INFO mailbox and record "we are busy, plz press *901 to leave a message"

If the other members do not require a personal mailbox then you could setup Hunt Groups and a mailbox behind that HG's DN

Note that you cannot have to mailboxes behind one phone os have a mailbox and also be an Alternate DN for another mailbox.

So there is no way with Nortel to have someone leave a message that goes to a few people without dialing *xxx
?

Is it possible to place an extension number on a button of a few phones and have that flash when a message is left?

no
no

Another option is create a mailbox behind an unused DN
Put an Answer key on those members phones for the unused DN as Appear & Ring
Setup the mailbox with Off Prem notify to call Internal DN

When a message is left it will call that DN (and all the sets with Answer keys), you answer the call and bionic betty will tell you there is a message and ask you to log in.
