How can you tell which port id belongs to what extension?

I have an Avaya IP Office 4.0 How can you tell which port id belongs to which extension? I have to move a user and I want him to keep his extension. I'm confused about how to do it. I don't know which port is connected to his current extension.

Try dialing *36 (short code for log out) The display should say no user on top and the extn that it is connected to on the bottom

Look at where the phone cable is plugged into the wall. Make a note of the number.

Look at where the user will be sitting make a note of the port number.

Go to your patch panel and repatch it according to the above.... or have i miss read the question (AGAIN!!!!)
