Hello everyone! just having an issue with hosted Avaya. The client would like to have their internal and external calls use ringtone 1 for inside calls and ringtone 8 for external calls. So I created a ringtone plan and set the line in the "incoming call route --> Ringtone override" to the plan I created but it changes nothing. So I then when to the User ----> Telephony ----> call settings and changed the "outside call sequence to ring tone 8" and changed the "inside call sequence" to ringtone 1..... Again, no change..
have any of you saw this before? it's a hosted off-prem server edition 11.0.4.0.

Thanks a lot for stopping by my thread!

What type of phones? Ring Tone Override = 1400 Series, 9500 Series and J100 Series (except J129) phones only.

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.

Hey Sizbut, the phones are 9608g!

is there a way to make those changes on a 9608's?

Only if you switch to the classical ringtone set. But then you have the same boring ringtones like with 1400/1600/9500.

IP Office remote service Fixed price SIP trunk configuration: CLI based cale blocking: SCN fallback over PSTN:

Yeah, I get that, but I guess what I am asking is there a way (in manager) to set all phones to default use different ringers for calls internally and externally. Seems like a really simple feature and makes a lot of sense but I can't seem to get it working lol

Is there a different way it has to be done when its "hosted"?

In manager with 96XX phones no. If you use classical ringtones, like derfloh said, it will automatically use different ringtones for internal and external calls. It won't be ringtone1 and ringtone8 but they will be different.

The truth is just an excuse for lack of imagination.

Hey Critchey, yeah that's the conclusion I ended up coming to. its unfortunate since the ringtones are really similar, but I really appreciate your response! Thx

I am not really sure why they decided to make ringtone override not work for 96XX and 16XX phones for some reason. I thought maybe it was an IP phone limitation at one point but J series phones work with it now.

The truth is just an excuse for lack of imagination.
