G'day all,
We are planning to put Panasonic TES824 behind another TES824 which will be the host PABX.

This second (or new PABX) need to use CO lines that are attached to both PABX's.

The way explained in the manual to access host pabx co line is pressing,
automatic CO line access number (9) -> Host pabx access code

Since the automatic CO line access number(9) is used to access the host PABX, will it be possible to access CO lines attached to this new PABX by pressing the same automatic line access number (9)?

no you will have to dial the co line code on host pbx

OK, then I am able to user host pbax by pressing 88 (co group access number and co group number)

then I configured those CO which going to the host pabx with host pabx access number (9) which should be the automatic CO line access number of the host PABX.

but i am unable to get the dial tone by pressing 88--9 but able to get 88-81 (up to 88 for each co line of the host pabx). here I am using --88 81 .

according to the manual I should be abe to access host pabx CO by pressing 88 then 9. any thing I have missed?

help highly appriciated..

set idle line preference on phone and then set ext that is on the line with pickup dial feature and all you
will have to do is pickup the phone and wait for an outside
line from host pbx.

I have a similar problem? I have a KX-TA-1232 behind a centrex system. When I dial 9 I want to get an outside centrex line and have the PBX predial the 9? I've tried everything I can but I cant get the PBX to dial the 9 for me? Right now I have to dial 99 to dial a number and I only want to dial 9.

should have put in the td 1232 could have done ars
you can do pickup dial with the ta also....

Didnt put the KX-TA in there, its a custoemr who already had one. How can I have the dial 9 dial the extra 9 for me?

Am I misreading the programming for this? Can the TA do this or do I have to try and have centrex remove the dial 9 requirement?

I did look at the manual. This isnt my first time programming a PBX's. Do you have a pprogram number to make it easier for me to find it? I didnt see anthing in the programming guide called "pickup dial"?

PS: I dont want prime line preference or anything like that. When I pick up the phone I want the ICM to be default, if I dial 9 I want the PBX to pick a free line and dial the extra 9 for me.

can't do it without ars the best you can do is pickup dial

OK, ARS is ok. Can I set ARS to use all trunks TRK1-TRK6? I was hoping to keep each trunk in a seperate group so I can have a light for each one but if I have to pool them I will. To be clear, any ext that picks up and dials 9 will get the next available trunk (1-6) no matter what they dial. When the call is placed the system will dial a 9+ the number they entered after their orignal 9 for an outside line.

IE: I pick up ext 110, I get ICM. I dial 9 I hear dialtone. I dil 555-1212 and it dials 9,555-1212 on the Cenrex trunk in the first avaialble trunk (1-6).

Thanks

do you have "whats the manual say" programmed in as a hot key or something. Thats all I ever see on this forum. How about an actual answer for a change. I have the manual, I read the manual. I have been programming PBX' for years and I'm fairly new to panasonic. If I could have found the answer in the manual I wouldnt be asking it here!

well let me say this you are asking for us to build you
an ars table I say set it up test it and see if it works

I'm not familiar with the TA, but I know the TD like the back of my .. uh, best friend's brother's uncle's hand.

Pick up dial won't do exactly what you want, because it will a) make it annoying for you to use the intercom functions, and b) I think you want to remove the CENTREX 9 instead of the Panasonic 9.

Pick up dial.. IIRC, system program #204 (or is it 240?) ... around there somewhere anyhow. "PICKUP DIAL" is actually the dial timeout. The shortest you can set is one second. This means that you have one second to dial an intercom function, or it will dial out whatever number you've programmed.

Intercom functions 740 and 741 toggle pickup dialing off or on. 742 sets the number to dial, just like call forwarding (ie 7429# would set the pickup dial string to "9").

IMNSHO, pickup dialing is only useful for hotline phones. You know, like the red ones where you shout, "Get me the President!".

...let's see. I don't know ARS. If I really wanted this and couldn't convince the centrex folks to pull the 9 (should be able to), I would look at the toll restrictor stuff for modified long-distance dialing. You might be able to fudge something there.

Incidentally, why Centrex AND a PBX?

Oh, one more thing. SLT is panasonic code word for "POTS phone".
