Hello,
I too have inherited a Hicom PBX. A model 150, that I have been logging into via a GUI program called Hipath. I can add and change stations and all that stuff. I can't seem to use the main console telephone set to log in and do administrative changes from that master set. I always have to go and get my laptop and plug into the card and configure that way. Where do I set the admin password used on the sets via the Hipath program?

This all started as a result of a quest to find out how to set the time on the sets. I thought that it was set by the Bell switch on incoming cxalles, and have been told otherwise and to use the *95 method from the main console, but guess what, it prompts me for a password, which is different from the password which i use to log into Hipath.

Any help in this matter will be greatly appreciated?

Thanks, Jeff

To set time and date from the first extension

Good Luck

thanks. got it done. now now one more question.

i can make the changes from the console (ext 200)

is there a way to set up my station (237) to be an admin station?

i have the gui, or i can do it from the console.

it just appears that some of the admin functions are not available in the gui.

thanks, jeff

No, it has to be the lowest numbered port.

Sadly I don't have the gui.

I am just a smart guy, but not a factory rep :(

According to the manuals there are things (certain trunk configuration stuff) that requirs the gui.

Not sure to what extent the opposite is true.

Best of luck.

Thanks, the GUI was already on the laptop when I came to work here, but no CD's. So I got my updated copy on ebay for $10.

Ok, cool, I'll start looking there. That is where I got my documentation.

Look for Hicom Assistant E, it is the cat's ... meow.

Know what version software you are running on your 150 though because v1.x and v2.x require different versions of Assitant E. Once you have that and the password you were given above you will have the power to manage the whole system from one cool interface, and skip all that phone dialing junk :)

As far as I'm aware the second digital port can also be used for administration purposes in exactly the same way

It are indeed the first two digital ports which can be used to administer from a phone. In the later software versions
(the cross over to hipath) it will be the first two connected phones who are able to administer.

And about the password. It should be the same as the password you use as in you software application
