Hi We installed Avaya system manager and CM 8.0couple months ago and using some J169 phones that we are not real happy with. What are model of phones you are using on CM that you like? right now our biggest complaint is the phone does not "go home" meaing if you answer a bridg appr when you hang up the phone stays on that brgd appr. so if admin answers CEO's line, hangs up and tries to make a call it calls from CEO line. appreciate any recommendations

If Bridged Call is Answered on phone. Next off hook will stay on the bridged line and not go to prime line.

1. “Half/Full width screen on J179”. It is working in Aura 7.1.3.4 GA and J179 4.0.2.1.3. Set screen width via settings file is targeted into 4.0.3 with tentative date/Period October 2019;
2. “Phone Groups” – This is scheduled to be fixed in 4.0.3.0 release in early October 2019. SAC fb – documentation JIRA SIP96X1-64718 created.
3. “J179 initiating call from previously used Call/Bridged Appearance”. CPE has created JIRA SIP96X1-64588 to track this issue. This functionality is scheduled for the 4.0.4.0 release with tentative date January 2020.
 
sorry this is confusing are J169 and J179 phones the same? is this saying the if bridged call is answered on a phone next off hook will stay on bridged line and not go to prime, is set for fix on 4.0.4.0 release Jan 2020?
 
J169 and j179 use the same firmware. And yes sounds like you will have to wait unless you open a ticket with avaya
 
avayaguy23 thank you I did find the doc your reference in support avaya. I need to work on using this tool more. We just installed CM in July very busy working through the bugs.
 
Is 'select last used appearance' enabled on page 2 of the station form? That would explain your complaint.
If its not, and if you could prove the problem doesn't exist with a 9600 phone on the same station, I'd reckon you've got a J phone bug.

Valid Entry Usage
y Indicates a station’s line selection is not to be moved from the currently selected line
button to a different, non-alerting line button. The line selection on an on-hook station
only moves from the last used line button to a line button with an audibly alerting call.
If there are no alerting calls, the line selection remains on the button last used for a
call.
n The line selection on an on-hook station with no alerting calls can be moved to a
different line button that might be serving a different extension.
 
I’m using h323 6.8.2 for j169 and we are finding nothing but bugs. Avaya really rushed this product. They were better off keeping the 9611g phone.
 
thank you Kyle "Select last used appearance" is not an option for us in CM. We have tried all of the options listed below that are available on our features options. none work

We have some of the 9600 phones on an IP office and no complaints. our sales team highly recommended the JSeries. Can you direct me to a list of Avaya CM supported phones for CM?
 
Avaya’s new “10 year platform” phone is the j series. The 9611g was its predecessor. Unfortunately, this new platform is plagued with bugs. I would recommend staying on the j series because avaya tends to end of life their products within 2-3 years. I would suggest opening a ticket with avaya to gain access to fixed firmware instead of waiting until January. Force avaya’s hand.
 
OK thank you. Our VAR has opened a ticket and we are pushing them but my management team is asking us to look at other options. I will share your suggestion.
I know because of our experience with Avaya as soon as I say it they will be nodding in agreement.
I do thank you guys for your help. I have a feeling tek- tips is going to be my best friend :)
 
What model is the phone administered as? H323 J's need to be 9608/9611. In my SMGR 8.1 I have "use last appearance" in my endpoint editor.
