Hi,

I have the callback feature working with one cell phone number listed in the Source Numbers tab. I was just informed that the end user would like the callback to ring at two cellphones instead of one.
I tried entering both cell-phone numbers in the Soure Numbers Tab and only the first phone on the list rings. Any ideas?

Thaks for all your help.

Here's a very round-about idea. Setup two phantom extensions with fwd unconditional on, with the cell phone # in each. Put both into a HG, collective ring, no VM, and set the callback to ring either to the HG or to a ICR pointed to that HG.

Set up a group for this purpose, turn vm on. Enable broadcast for that group and put two virtual users in.

The group vm would send the message to the members of that group, the two virtual users.

Use those virtual users for the call back.

You cant have one mailbox call two different people because there is only one message, what would happen if both people answered at the same time and tried to delete the message. There is an obvious clash there.

i seem to recall that in 4.0 weren't they suppose to introduce a more robust callback function that would allow multi destinations to be called (in sequence, not at the same time)so it could try "Home" then "Cell", etc. up to i think 3 total destinations.

maybe i just dreamed it.

No you are correct , that is a feature that was added in V4.0 (& it seems to work)
it is setup from the handset when you dial into your mailbox
it does not use any of the entries in Source numbers

Thanks for all the suggestions. I am trying them out and hope to have a solution sometime soon.

Here's the issue I currently have, how can dummy extensions call external numbers? I tried creating two virtual user's each with source numbers of different cell phones. I also created the call back call-flow for each virtual user too. For some reason, it did not work.

As for the outcalling feature, though the system is set for Intuity voicemail, I do not have the tab for Outcalling in the Preferences --> General Menu of VMPro.

Please help.

Thanks

Yes but out calling calls the destinations in sequence.

The requirement stated (or at least that was how i understood it) was two at once.

Hi,

As of now, the requirement is that vm callback the number's at once like PlatinumGuy understood. Apologize for the confusion - was just trying to poke around the system to learn about out calling.

However, I am still having trouble with the callback to cell phones. The call goes through the call-flow and ends up in the virtual user's voicemail. There is no call back to cell phones. Any ideas?

Does the user's phone manager type need to be set at pro instead of lite?

Thanks,

Paul

This is nothing to do with PM.

Have you created a source number under each user

P12345678

12345678 being the number you want vm to call?

Update:

The voicemail calls back one cell phone and not both, as it forwards the mail to only one mailbox and calls the external number associated with that mailbox. Any ideas?

If this helps, here's my setup:

0312 - main mailbox set up as hunt group with broadcast and two numbers (0307 and 0308) as members of the hunt group.
0307 and 0308 have callback callflow's set up in vm pro and different cell phone number's have been entered in the Source Number's tab.

Also, here' the funny thing - I had 0308 unchecked in the hunt group members and it still forwarded the vmail to this number and not 0307. Now, I have both 0307 and 0308 unchecked and it still forwards messages to 0308. Any ideas?

Please help.

Thanks,

Paul

Update #2:

Got it working :) Not sure what I did different though.

Thank you all for all your help.
