I have a desk that has a functioning 4412D+. I want to switch it with a 4424D+, but when I do, I get no lights. Any ideas?

Oh, and please, accept my sincerest of preemptive apologies for this question as it probably has (I'm hoping) and easy answer.

Thanks,
Steve(rrific)

If you haven't tried this already, plug the phone into another digital station jack and see if the LEDs illuminate.

Is the 4424 brand spanking new, "refurbished" or "used"?

You do have the power supply right? And you're using a 4 conductor line cord from the power supply to the phone?

I thought the power supply was only on the 4424LD+ and the phone would still work without it. Only the display wouldn't work.

Yes, but we still do not have the answer about the DSS field.

Sounds like a defective 4424D+ - unless it works when plugged into another port. If the 4412D+ works fine - swapping it for a 4424D+ on the same port and wiring should not be a problem - unless - as mentioned above - you have a DSS unit plugged in. If you do - you need the external power supply.

Yes, but we still do not have the answer about the DSS field.

I had a DSS plugged into the 4412D+ a while ago, but not anymore. Currently, it's just the 4412D+.

The 4424D+ does work on another line.

That is strange.

Are you using a 1 Pair or 2 Pair cord on the 4424D+?

A 1 Pair should be sufficient.

If you are using a 2 pair, try switching to a single pair cord.

Thank you all for your help.

I swapped out the cord and that worked.

By the way, I believe you can test all LEDs and display by dialing *00.

I'm glad you found your answer here.
