Sorry guys I’m switching over from NEC and learning Nortel on the fly. AT&T just ported over the last DID’s from closed buildings PRI to this locations PRI. I’ve only been here 6 months so I wasn’t here when the bulk of the DID’s were ported. My question is do I need to do anything other than conversion in LD49 to redirect them to the existing extensions where I need them to go?

EX: for DID (123) 456-7301
REQ prt
TYPE IDC
CUST 0
DCNO 1
IDGT CDGT
7301 6868

When I call full number (123) 456-7301 I do not reach our extension 6868 even though AT&T just told me the porting is complete.

Help… PLEASE!

Dear prt the route number in ld 21 ,
there should be some parameters like

IDC yes
DCNO 1

so these settings links your route to your setting in LD 49 for conversion of incoming digits to new digits

If you are sure that IDC 1 is set against the route that the new DID is comming in on then thats it.

If not then put a DCH Trace on the PRI(s) in LD 96 "enl msgi xx" (xx=DCH for your PRI, msgi is incomming messages (msgo is out)). Look at the incomming setup message how many digits are you receiving (hopefully 4) and double check the route. Look at the route in LD 21 PRT,RDB,cust 0,Route. Find the IDC set to yes with the day and night tables following "*" against the one currently in use.

We already have the previously ported DID in LD49 and I know it’s been working since I got here.

REQ prt
TYPE IDC
CUST 0
DCNO 1

DCNO 1
IDGT CDGT
7282 3395

When I dial (123) 456-7282 I do get extension 3395.

are you sure that your new port is working and delivering the right ammount of digits, and if on a large site comming in on the same route? DCH Trace would confirm this.

Thank you all!

Eventually after running a DCH Trace, a call to AT&T, and much waiting, all DID's are coming through and being translated corectly. Turns out they had a newbee doing the Porting at AT&T and it went slower than expected.

Thanks Again, you guys are the best!

tip for future use.. ld 96 enl msgi x on the inbound d channel.. then when the provider lies, you don't scramble for an answer..

i've seen that several times, "we're sendind 4 digits perfect".. that funny, i'm seeing all 7 digits.. then all of a sudden, things start to work, same voice on the other end, "we didn't change anything, must have been on your end"
(and we pay for this service)
