Over the weekend, the air conditioning in our phone room failed and this morning, no ringing is on incoming calls for the caller side. The called party hears the rings.

As well as the following I noticed.

MTCE Card: Red on major and minor alarms
Processor Card: Red on major and minor alarms
Expansion Interface: Red as well.

Any suggestions on where to start? People can at lease place and receive calls, but worried that it may lead to further problems.

Thanks for your help.

What do you see when you disp alarm?

I don't have a report period. and Equipment type put in. Do I enter the location of the processor and maintenance card?
Thanks

Change "Warning" to N and F# to run the report.

Sorry, that should be F3 and not F#.

so save after I change warning to N and then put F# where I would enter display alarms?

Put N in the warning field and press F3, disregard the F# as Susan indicated.

Then cut and paste that screen for us.

All the 02A are minor and a few seconds after...

This is the same time I believe the air was bad.
Thanks

Also run a disp err for active-alarms and paste that for us, as well.

Just doing a quick look, you may have a problem with either the tone-clock for 02A or the expansion interface card for 02A. TN2182 is tone-clock and TN570 Expansion interface.

Also, if the air is not fixed yet get some fans running near the equipment to help keep it cool. I know from experience because our ceiling compressor went out once and overheated the cabinets causing complete shut down or should I say melt down!

Is there a way to fix the tone board? We have a few extras I believe. We do not have maintenance, but can call someone to come out for it??

Thanks

You could run the inital test "test ala long clear". That may clear up more of your problems as I have noticed from your post that some of the expansion interface alarms have retired theirselfs. Then on the remaining alarms run the "test board xxxx long " then see what still fails and work on them. It looks like it wasnt very happy about the heat.

I have a tone clock in 01A and the one in 02A is the one that had the error. Can I switch the active one?

Thanks Mike,
Can this "test ala long clear" be done during business hours? Will it affect calls? I may have a technician come out tonight, but I am afraid more problems may come up this afternoon.

It will not be service affecting to run those commands. The command would be "test tone 02a l" That should show you if it is really bad.

This command made my ASA hang... It is not responding. Does it take long to do it?

Looks like the command took out all my major alarms except the tone board.
