Over the weekend, the air conditioning in our phone room failed and this morning, no ringing is on incoming calls for the caller side. The called party hears the rings.

As well as the following I noticed.

MTCE Card: Red on major and minor alarms
Processor Card: Red on major and minor alarms
Expansion Interface: Red as well.

Any suggestions on where to start? People can at lease place and receive calls, but worried that it may lead to further problems.

Thanks for your help.

It may have made your ASA hangup do to testing your ether-ports. Run that test command I gave you for the tone clock now and it should show you if it is bad.

02A TONE-BD 46 PASS
02A TONE-BD 52 Fail
02AXX01 ETR-PT 42 Fail
02AXX01 ETR-PT 43 ABORT
same for all
02A TDM-CLK 148 ABORT
02A TDM-CLK 150 ABORT
02A TDM-CLK 151 ABORT
02A TDM-CLK 574 PASS
02A TONE-PT 40 FAIL
02A TONE-PT 41 PASS

Can I change the active tone board to be 01A?

some of the test commands time out in the regular ASA window i.e. ASA lookslike it hangs. they run better via terminal emulation (still can do through ASA).

01a is a different cabinet. If you have another tone clock board you could replace it.

Thanks. Can this be done on the fly? Or best to wait til after hours. Not sure if I should bother having someone come out. Might be the best option though.

The above thread should step you through it. The page would be 2835. Glad all those pretty lights are going out for you. [smile]

If you have another tone-clock in cabinet 02, then do a stat sys all and check to see if your failing clock in 02A is active or standby. If standby you can disable it by bu tone 02A, if not use the command set tone 02X (X being the other shelf of another tone-clock) to make that tone-clock active so you can remove the defective tone-clock board. Good luck!

Thanks
It says
SPE 1A MODE ACTIVE SPEMAJOR 0 ALARMSMINOR 0 TONE/CLOCK 02A SERVST IN SYST CLOCK ACTIVE TONE ACTIVE

TDM 2A ServiceSt in control channel y dedicated tones n pkt 2

Looks like it is active. Both 1a and 2a tone clock say active.

With the alarms on 02a that would be cabinet 2 carrier a. Do a "list con con" and see if their is 2 tone clocks in cabinet 2. (02a 02b?)If so then you could try what supertech2000 recommended. I dont think you will have because if you did it should have taken over control. If not then you need to follow the repair proceedures for the tone clock which will probably be to replace it. If so follow the instructions on the above mentioned thread and that should have all your alarms resolved.
