hear dial tone on line on incoming calls

Hi everyone,

BCM 400 4.02 with DTI card PRI. In last couple of weeks and getting worse, we have been experiencing incoming calls having 'dial tone' at same time as call so that you can't hear anything.

The ISP says it is not them. Any ideas?

I don't have a 'spare' DTI. Is there any way to check this, or error to look for? Currently, PmRemoveCallFromPortTable: Error1 rc=8448(0x2100) sporadically appears.

It was patched up to end of 2011, when it was acquired from a closing business. I have checked with a vendor, but they would give me no more info, and it was a registered unit, but I have no idea how to represent ownership transfer, or the original owner's vendor.
 
Step one is to apply the current patches.
The most recent patch for BCMr4.0 is SU System 034 release 6/6/2012.
If the patch doesn't resolve the issue, and you're certain the problem is within the BCM, then you start troubleshooting in-depth and it some point it will probably include replacing some hardware.

I find it intriguing that you only have the problem on inbound calls.
How do you answer your inbound calls ... VM AA, call center, hunt groups, DID's directly to the phones?

You also use the term ISP, which I interpret as Internet Service Provider. Is this SIP converted to PRI?

how do I get the patches?

don't know the method ISP is using, it is a joint DSL and phone service provider.

calls are answered with all the methods, some are DiD, some are hunt group off incoming number, some goto AA and some goto VM only.
 
had ISP run circuit test and used call examples and they insist it is not them.

what other questions should be asked on them?
 
It would be helpful to know how they deliver the PRI.
Is it a SIP circuit to the site then run through an IAD, or some other device, to convert it to PRI?

Do you ever have issues with outgoing calls?
