I am trying to connect through terminal on a laptop
But am having trouble I thought serial to db9 would work .Where do I connect on system definity ECS. I am using emulator on asa please help. When I try to log on it says no connection.

If your PBX is V9 or above, you can use TCP/IP connectivity. You will need the IP address and port assigned to the C-LAN board. For switches prior to V9, you can either use the dial up modem line (INADS), a Data Module, or the TERM connector on the back of the cabinet. The TERM connector is a 25 pin RS-232. You may need a crossover cable. By using a data module, you will be able to leave the INADS line available for alarm origination and vendor access and you will not have to disconnect the SAT terminal connected to the PBX.

Where would I connect modem if I wanted to go that route? I have tryed using terminal but keep getting a not connected error. My laptop only has usb ports and I am on a xp home OS.

romeoottis, the modem is built into the pi card I believe so no set up is needed, the connection to the modem is on the 25th pair of the aux cable, so just connect a phone line to the aux cable pair 25 and should be all set for modem access, hope this helps.
