I can find the ring vol just find, but I'm looking to set the handset vol to high when you pick it up. Every time she picks it up its set to the lowest vol.

Under System Programming, Feature Settings, change the Receiver Volume to set. It is probably set to sys.

What doesn't kill you only makes you stronger.

Right, then, with rec vol=set, and her phone idle, (not on an active call), have her pick up her handset, adjust the volume to her liking, and hang up. The system will store that preference.

Sorry, bear with me. I’m still trying to find Feature Settings > Receiver Volume. Is this in **CONFIG?

Found it! **CONFIG with the pass: CONFIG not ADMIN. I’m learning though!!
It was set to SET.. so I then go over to the phone I need the receiver volume changed, set the volume then set the handset back on the hook. The system should save the setting as a new default? But it doesn’t. Let me get this straight, I can’t access System Programming from the said terminal I’m trying to change, so I’m doing this all through a master terminal, Right!

And RikRodgers Thank you for all your help on ALL of my posts!

First, I'm glad to help. Tomorrow it'll probably be me asking you to get me through a sticky spot.

Right. You need at least a 7310 to get into system programming.

Yes, that should have worked. I'd try changing the volume on another set, and see if that holds. I do seem to remember an issue with some really early revision sets (7100's?) that wouldn't retain the setting. I haven't heard of that being an issue on any 7208's, though.

Maybe someone else has an idea?

On second thought, I may be assuming something basic here.

On her set, when idle, pick up her handset, and press intercom. Then adjust the volume, and hang up.

Yes!! It did not work on that set I was working on but I experimented with one that’s not being used, and it worked!

Next time you’re in the Kansas City area the Beers are on me!
