Hi, we have 3 ultraset comfort set 151 t28 fd in an office and all three of them are having issues with the handset's speaker and/or microphone (sometimes one, other times both). My partner thinks its the piezoelectric failing (both mic and spk are piezo) . Sometimes hitting the handset with the hand fixes the issue, but as the time passes the issue is getting worse. We changed the handsets but after a few months the issue came back, and its really hard to find replacements in 2019. Is this a known issue? Is there a way to fix this?

Thanks in advance!

BTW, sorry for my english, im'm from Argentina :)

I try to blame the cord before I blame the handset - especially if there is more than one, but if they are antiques... :)

Indeed it could be the cords, they are hardwired not modular

Ohhhh the joys of the olden days!! Do you remember the ATC consoles that used to have handsets made to look like they were hardwired, but they actually had the modular connector recessed in a ways and you had to go through amazing feats to get the cord replaced?

Hi guys, thanks for the answers. Will try replacing the cords, and yes, they are hardwired but thats no issue at all. Will get you back with the results.

thank you!
